Non-Functional Testing: Load and Stress

by Nataliia Vasylyna | July 7, 2016 7:17 am

Each software testing lab has a choice: create tests from the ground up or use a specialized tool that can significantly help with that.

This is true not only for functional testing[1] but also for non-functional activities such as stress testing, performance testing and load testing. Someone might argue that non-functional testing cannot be creative and effective enough if executed with a tool. This is not nearly true, given that modern testing tools can provide extremely useful information on the operation speed, load resistance and efficiency of almost any system.

What Can Be Done with Non-Functional Testing Tools?

As we can see, performance, load and stress testing[3] are good candidates for being executed with the help of specialized tools. Unfortunately, even the most multifunctional tool may disappoint users if its setup process is cumbersome and full of annoying barriers. However, if everything is alright with this aspect, then a tool has good chances to succeed and be in demand.
