Modern devices can work with many various accessories enhancing user experience and simplifying interaction with devices. That is why one cannot ignore them performing mobile testing, desktop testing and web site testing.
Common Mobile Accessories Are:
- headphones;
- microphone;
- keyboard;
- mouse;
- joystick;
- stylus;
- special gloves for touch screens.
Executing mobile application testing one should make sure that the accessories operate properly during application usage. There is special approach helping to check functioning of the accessories. The approach is called accessories tour. It assumes plugging and unplugging the accessories while interacting with the tested software product and moving the mobile device.
When testing the software product behavior with wireless accessories it is recommended to check how the accessories and the software work near other devices that may interfere with their work, for example, microwave ovens or monitors. It is wise also to check how the application operates when the accessory signal is weak. One can put the mobile device far from the accessory in order to check such situation.
Nowadays personal computers can also be equipped with wireless accessories. Wireless mouse is among most widespread of them. So, a software testing company considers that it is good to apply accessories tour not only during mobile testing but during desktop testing and web site testing as well.
