How Study of End-Users Improves Testing

As a rule, in course of software testing process one concentrates mostly on functional testing and on checking if the application corresponds to its requirements.

If a testing process is performed this way, after release users often face defects and problems some of which are quite obvious and could have been discovered in course of web site testing, desktop testing or mobile testing.

A professional software testing company recommends to consider end users of the tested software product instead of just blindly follow the specification. This approach allows to prevent most of occurrences of software bugs in production.

For This Purpose it is Wise:

• to inquire what people are end-users of the software product;
• to get to know how and for what tasks people utilize the software;
• to learn who are the end users, what are their age, gender, profession, education, hobbies and so on;
• to determine main types of the application users;
• to find out who are problem users and what difficulties they mostly face.

The mentioned information helps to see the software product through the end users’ eyes. Such perspective enables testers to find more defects in course of a mobile application testing, desktop or web site testing.
