Most of quality assurance experts are convinced that usability is of utmost importance for any modern application. That is why they always insist on paying due attention to usability issues in course of web site testing, desktop testing and mobile testing.
Another significant characteristic of a program is its performance. Users hate to wait till a software product loads or executes an operation. The worst is when an application causes the computer to freeze up, reload or go into an error mode.
Developers used to give weight to software performance in 1990s, when web technology and software products just began to evolve into what they are now.
So, they optimized the source code and the content, and did everything to make the software work as fast as possible.
Mobile application testing reveals that modern mobile programs often have problems similar to those that early web programs had. A software testing company can confirm that the reasons of the problems are also similar.
Unfortunately, at present mobile software developers often do not notice that smartphones and tablets are not so powerful, as personal computers are, their screen resolution is much smaller and networking connection can be poor. So, mobile applications should be adjusted to mobile devices and condition of usage.
Performance defects must be corrected as early as possible in a development life cycle. They must be noticed in course of manual and automated testing.
