Proper performance testing is very important for any software product nowadays. Requirements to performance are especially high in mobile programs and programs specialized in certain fields, for example medicine, nuclear science and so on.
One can find various performance problems of a mobile application in course of manual testing.
One Should Pay Attention To:
- Delays in the Program Operation. It is better to report any discovered delay providing clear steps to reproduce and description. Even if such delay is not a serious error the system will be better when it is removed.
- Time of the Application Launching. It shouldn’t last more than a few seconds.
- Heating of the Device. If the tablet or a smartphone begins to heat quickly after launching the program and starting to work with it, there is a performance problem that must be fixed.
- Fast Running Down the Battery. If the battery dies soon after beginning of interaction with the mobile software, it is necessary to reduce the number of executed operations on the background or data exchanging with the server, or something else should be corrected.
A software testing company always emphasizes that performance is an important characteristic and should be checked properly not only during mobile application testing, but during desktop testing and web site testing as well.
