What are Peculiarities of Web Software Back-End Testing?

Nowadays there are many types of software products, they have some specific features. One of specificities of web software products is that they mostly perform operations and locate on the server. Many web applications also utilize third party servers.
The users see the application interface on their machines and interact with the web site or web application through the user interface.
These features determine functional testing, usability testing, compatibility testing and other testing types of web software.
Everything must work perfectly in order to satisfy the users and take a leading position at the market. So, wise software owners do not save time and money with a sacrifice in software testing.
Performing Web Site Testing One Should Make Sure That:
- communication between the users’ computers and web software server is performed correctly;
- data exchange between the servers is performed correctly;
- the web software is compatible with the utilized databases;
- interruption of any transaction is correctly processed;
- there is no data loss; the data are stored safely;
- the application displays a relevant error message if an error happens or connection with the server is lost at any stage of data processing.
Automated testing is often used for back-end testing of web software products. Usability testing, localization testing and some other activities are carried out manually.
