Who Is Omega Tester?

In software testing company, some test teams may be understaffed. But pretty soon they will be fully staffed. The checking of small projects requires one specialist. Several testers may work on one difficult product.
It is necessary for a tester to be a team player. But very often testers can work on the same project, and there can be a huge distance between them. It somehow makes the communication more difficult, but it can be easily solved.
What really matters is the ability to do the given job well and effectively. Testers should concentrate on their particular part of work, do it perfectly and then integrate their own results with the ones got by other test team members.
What Is Essential for Omega Tester?
- It is necessary to do one task at a time. Focusing on one issue will bring more results than solving different problems simultaneously. Multi-tasking is not suitable for testers. It is manager’s duty. While performing usability testing[1], the specialist should not be distracted by various conditions.
- The preparation for software testing is very important. It is impossible to start functional testing without knowing the general concept of the product and without getting acquainted with the documentation and client’s requirements.
- The order has to be in mind and on the desktop. During system testing[2], the specialist makes a lot of notes and comments. Very often testers never mind the organization of their records. It should be remembered that disorder is the first step to chaos.
- Curiosity is tester’s helper. Software testing is a heuristic search process. Every step of checking procedure is not defined and described in details. Tester is like an explorer while performing mobile testing[3] or any other checking type.
