Besides Bugzilla, the experts from software testing company may also use Mantis, Trac and Redmine. It may depend on the tester’s preferences.

Mantis[1] BT is a web based bug tracking system. It can work with various databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.), as the system is written in PHP. Mantis provides the effective interaction between users. It keeps all members of the team updated with the latest changes concerning the testing and development procedures.

What Are the Main Mantis Features?

Redmine is written in Ruby on Rails. It is a web based management and bug tracking system. It supports different databases and platforms. It is available in various languages. Redmine is a flexible project management application; and flexibility if very important for software testing.

Redmine Has Such Features As:

Trac is developed by Edgewall Software. It is written in Python and is cross-platform software. Trac has a very simple interface.

To cut the long story short, a bug-tracker is an inevitable tool for performing various types of software testing [2]such as mobile testing (checking of mobile programs and applications), desktop testing [3]and web application testing[4].
