To utilize the majority of software products, it is necessary to have them installed. Sometimes the installation process may cause troubles and difficulties. That is why installation testing in software testing field is rather widespread.
In general, the aim of installation testing is to check whether the software is successfully installed and works appropriately. It can be a game, banking application, file manager, etc. – it is possible even to test Java installation.
The installation procedure can be of several types:

- automated.
It is important to designed test cases for installation testing of each type in order to provide an effective software testing.
