People who want to connect their life with IT sphere, namely testing, often face the difficulties at the stage of creating a resume.
This may happen so because they do not really have an idea of what software testing is and what qualities are sought by the recruiters.
Undoubtedly, the reasons may be poles apart. Sometimes resumes are just lost among the great number of others or they did not pass thorough checking. Also, it happens so that the technical skills do not meet the company’s requirements.
The hundreds of sent resumes often show as a silence from the hr’s side and this discourages potential testers. It is time to realize why it is so and what to do to bear away.
4 causes why recruiters keep silence
- Sending resume indiscriminately – the biggest mistake of any job applicant is to execute untargeted resume sending. This makes recruiters think that he/she is incompetent.
- Poor resume – resume content is what should be really concentrated on. Formulate the role you want to play at software testing company, do not write irrelevant data, be concise, and always remember about grammar.
- Not my scene – it may be so that testing is not really your field of activity and that is okay. Do not upset and find what area you are really good at.
- Not making what was required – sometimes job vacancy includes additional information or actions which should be obligatory performed. So read the requirements till the end before blindly send resume.
