- General Standards for Component Testing
BS 7925-2 is a software test standard that defines the overall process of testing, techniques of test cases creation and other activities that are used in component testing. The main task of BS 7925-2 is to determine how well the software component is checked with the help of dynamic testing.
BS 7925-2 includes the normative part and informative annexes part.
Normative part consists of the following stages:
Capacity
This phase aims to identify the objects of the dynamic component testing and a variety of methods for the evaluating and design of the testing.
Regulatory documentation and definitions
BS 7925 is one among the first software testing standards and thus single standard of software testing was connected to it to support all to support other standards under it.
The Process
It should contain the component test plan for the project, component test strategy and both software and hardware test environment.Test plan defines the links between test components and their sequences.
Test strategy includes the specifications of test case design techniques, the criteria for test completion, the approach to testing components. Plan of actions, which was defined for the general test process, should be applied for each test case separately. Each component must have its own specifications, which will help in getting the desired results with a set of input data.
