What is the Real Workflow in QA Company?

Most university graduates, wishing to work in a software testing company, only by hearsay know about the real working process in such companies.
Below is a brief review of the main stages of a software testing process.
4 Basic Workflow Components in a Software Testing Process:
- Project Review. At the beginning of a project the managers review the project, study the requirements, evaluate the amount of work. Here the decisions are made about general baselines of the assumed mobile application testing, desktop testing or web site testing.
- Project plan. The next step will be to develop a test plan and a project plan. As a result, the entire volume of the work will be divided into separate segments, and they will be distributed among members of the team.
- Tests Running. When program modules are ready, software testing engineers execute smoke testing. If these tests fail, the programmers make the required corrections, and the smoke testing is run again. When it passes, the testers can start manual testing.
- Regression testing. A testing process usually includes various types of testing, in particular functional testing, localization testing, if the software supports several languages, usability testing, security testing and so on. All the reported bugs have to be fixed. After this the testing team performs regression testing to make sure that the errors do not exist anymore, and no new ones appeared.
In the end, when the software is constructed and verified, the project managers decide that the software product is ready for release.
