What to Test in Case of Lack of Time?
Time is very precious for the specialists of software testing company. It is impossible to test every needed system component or every issue of application functionality. The whole life is not enough for testing all required aspects of the system.
Sometimes it is difficult to find out what should be tested while performing desktop testing or web application testing. In this case a test manager will help. He is well acquainted with client’s requirements, peculiarities of product and its functionality, abilities of testing team, etc. Test manager distributes tasks and defines their priority.
If there is no test manager in the team, then testers decide themselves what they will check at first, for example, during mobile testing. How to define the most essential issues and components of the application? One may say that the functionally is at the first place. But it includes a number of various points.
Which Functionality Should Be Tested at First?
- The most important functionality due to the aim of product.
- The functionality that is the most visible to users.
- The one that influences security to the biggest extent.
- The functionality that has the biggest financial influence on users.
Besides functionality, a lot of other aspects of system should be checked. There are issues concerning the most difficult parts of code (they may contain many errors), aspects that may raise the number of services complaints, the application components developed in a rush, etc. Everything that is the most important for users and customers.
The most essential point of software testing is the priority ranking. The most complicated key components should be tested at first.
